TSSA Advisory for Registered Unattended Ice Surface Plants

TSSA is proposing an advisory on plant safety at ice surface sites.

What is the Purpose of the Advisory?

The advisory serves two purposes:

  1. To draw attention to the maintenance of aging plant infrastructure at ice surface sites in Ontario.
  2. To clarify the roles of individuals and groups in the process required to maintain safety at community centres and other sites housing ice surfaces in the province.

Please note that forthcoming changes to CSA B52 Mechanical Refrigeration Code regarding risk mitigation options and regular system checks for Secondary Coolant Systems are under consideration.

Provide Your Input

Stakeholders have provided preliminary input into the drafting of the advisory. TSSA is now seeking broader input on the draft advisory and encourages stakeholders to review and submit their comments on the advisory.

Please submit comments no later than January 27, 2023.

TSSA will review stakeholder feedback and follow-up with participants on the outcome of the review.
